News 12 Live at Goffle Brook

In our last post we said “JUST FOLLOW THE GOFFLE BOOK ROAD”. News 12 of New Jersey did just that on March 20th and spent the entire morning broadcasting live from our garden center and farmer’s market. News 12’s Lauren Due visited Goffle Brook Farm and Garden Center in Ridgewood to get spring ready. Watch as she browses the garden center with Donna for more spring gardening tips and insights.

Family Owned and Operated For 56 Years

Goffle Brook Farms, founded by Richard and Dancy Osborne, was first opened on May 1st, 1968, and for the 56th straight year locals know spring has sprung when the pansies start to appear at Goffle Brook Farm. Many people drive by the desolate store looking for some sign of life, knowing that soon the lights will once again be on, the “closed for the winter sign” gone, and the store bursting with flowers. This is how life at “The Farm” begins.

Goffle Brook Farms has developed into a full-service garden center offering a quality selection of shrubs, annuals, perennials, roses, vegetables, bulbs, herbs, houseplants, tropicals, pottery, soil, mulches, and lawn care products, and a diverse and unique selection of garden decor, complete with our own “potting shed” for classes and events throughout the garden seasons.

We take pride in the fact that we have maintained the old-fashioned quality and service that was present decades ago. Spring fills Goffle Brook Farm’s Garden Center with brilliant colors, fresh fragrances, and tons of activity. We tend to believe that everyone can have a green thumb. (Yes, even you!) We’re here to help you find the right plants for your landscape and garden beds as well as your porch/patio containers and give you the confidence you need to be successful in your gardening endeavors.

The best part of gardening from seeds is the amazing ability to teach children the growth and life of a plant. With their sweet tiny hands, children can place the seeds directly into the soil and then watch as a little seed grows into a sprout and eventually turns into a beautiful plant. When you start seeds inside, children can watch and observe daily the changes that the plants are making. They can see the difference between a pepper sprout and a tomato sprout and the beauty of what they learn is worth all the extra effort to start a garden from seeds.

Lawn Care

Jonathan Green Lawn Care at Goffle Brook Farms

Introducing Jonathan Green’s The New American Lawn Plan for all homeowners with lawns. The New American Lawn is a cutting-edge lawn care program that not only feeds the lawn, like every program on the market today, but, unlike all others, FEEDS THE SOIL! That’s right, the soil.

Healthy soil is the foundation for all great lawns. Your soil must be free of compaction, possess healthy microbial populations, and have the correct pH or your “great lawn” journey will not happen. Think about it. Would you plant your annuals and perennials in a poor quality potting soil? Of course not. So why not ensure that your grass is growing in quality soil, too? The New American Lawn Primer Video makes this happen!

PERENNIALS FOR THE GARDEN

“Where flowers bloom, so does hope.”
Lady Bird Johnson ”

Perennials are plants that live longer than two years. Perennials may go to seed every year and may even die back to the ground at times, but their root systems are alive and they will grow again when conditions are right.

Joe N., Landscaper

Really cute garden center. My boyfriend and I stopped by to get some pumpkins. They had a great variety of both small and large pumpkins. They also have a small petting zoo with goats, sheep, and a pig. They have a small variety of produce for purchase inside. We wound up sampling cider they were selling and bought that as well as it was delicious. We may go back to get more. Employees were very helpful and friendly.

Highly recommend this garden center.
